Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters. On behalf of the Government of Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, we signed today by the directors of customs administrations of two countries, Mr Vladan Joković and Mr Vančo Kargov

Cooperation of customs services represents a precondition of success in determined combatting all forms of illegal activities facing the customs officers.

The fact that violation of customs regulations is inflicting damage to the financial, commercial and cultural interests of a country is conditioning the need for common response and harmonized measures in combatting against customs fraud and smuggling of various types of goods.

The Agreement, which was signed today, contains provisions from the model applied by the European Union, as well as model of bilateral agreement on customs cooperation from the World Customs Organization, and provides wide range of quality cooperation between the customs services of Montenegro and the Republic of Macedonia.
